Mercedes has been with Discover since 2013, where she drives strategic visibility and coordination within the Cybersecurity department. She has led significant initiatives, including the re-introduction of Spanish-speaking agents for Personal Loans. Mercedes holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.B.A. from North Park University.

Arlene Santiago
Sr. Manager, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Discover Financial Services
Arlene has been advancing DEI strategies at Discover since 2021. With a background in HR and a passion for building a diverse and inclusive workforce, Arlene leads volunteer efforts and regional initiatives for Discover’s HOLA Employee Resource Group. She holds a B.A. in Journalism and an M.B.A., and lives in Chicago with her family.

Elizabeth Gutiérrez
Senior Credit Bureau Data Analyst, Discover Financial Services
Elizabeth joined Discover in 2022 and plays a pivotal role in furnishing data to credit reporting agencies. She holds dual degrees in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Texas at Austin and has a background in astrophysical research. Raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Elizabeth is passionate about Discover’s mission and values.
