We are excited to announce that we are partnering with The Sensory Spot, a sensory-friendly play space that caters to all ages. Together with some amazing local organizations, we are hosting a day for families and communities to come together and enjoy various activities. These will include group exercises, raffles, literacy workshops, arts and crafts, music workshops, movement-based activities, and more. Regardless of age, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Meet Our Activity Partners:

  • Function Wellness
    • About: Aimara is the co-founder of Function f(x) Wellness alongside her brother Carlos. Their non-profit arm, Donks, supports marginalized communities (ranging from at-risk youth, individuals with disabilities, BIPOC communities, and geriatric/older adults) with an emphasis on at-risk youth. Their programs for at-risk youth are developed with Social Emotional Learning, Gang Prevention, and Violence Reduction frameworks combined with progressive and engaging therapeutic movement models that motivate participants. Their programs leverage movement and adventure as a modality to help link vital life lessons with character-building experiences. Through Function, they are providing traditionally overlooked communities the opportunity to take part in the benefits that different disciplines of training and movement bring to the mind, body, and soul.
    • Activity: The Function Wellness team will be leading a series of movement-based group exercises tailored for all ages and fitness levels to help engage the body, clear the mind, and connect with the community.
  • OG Comics
    • About: OG Comics is family-owned and operated, founded by Zach Hall and run by his wife, Jaidie Vargas, both Navy veterans with roots in underserved communities. Zach fused his passions for reading, creative arts, fashion, culture, and paving the way for younger generations to create OG Comics, an online retailer on a mission.
      • At OG Comics, we’re more than just a retailer of comics, books, and memorabilia. Our mission is deeply rooted in our community. We believe in the transformative power of storytelling, especially for kids who may not have access to these experiences. Through our initiatives, we aim to inspire future innovators, creators, and artists, while also fostering a love for reading among those who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
      • We believe that reading offers a much-needed escape from the challenges of the real world, creating a magical realm where anything is possible. It’s our sincere hope to share this joy and sense of wonder with others, helping to build a brighter, more imaginative world for all.
    • Activity: Comic Book / Cartoon Drawing Station and Venue Sponsor
  • Miles for Madison Foundation
    • Miles for Madison is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing recreational and educational opportunities to families with children with special needs.
    • The charity is named after Madison Reynolds, who had lissencephaly, a rare genetic disorder that required 24-hour care. Although she had to use a wheelchair, she loved being in motion. Madison was happiest on bike, horseback, amusement park rides, in her swing, and being pushed in her wheelchair on family runs. After moving to Sterling Ranch, her family would take her on long walks in the fresh air to explore the perimeter of their new community as new parks and playgrounds were being built. After Madison’s death, her family was committed to honoring her memory by helping other families with disabled children. This charity’s goal is to support families when insurance fails them. Miles 4 Madison provides them with essential recreational opportunities that are often the first items to get cut from the family budget yet are essential experiences that make lasting memories for the entire family.
    • Activity: Special Entry Giveaway
