🎨 We’re thrilled to present “Latinas Lead: Design Thinking Workshop,” a virtual event led by the talented Rabia Razzaq! 🎨

Join us for an exciting session where Rabia Razzaq, a skilled product designer with a Master’s degree from Syracuse University, will guide us through the essentials of design thinking and storytelling. Rabia, who was honored with an Award of Excellence for her work in designing for people with disabilities, brings a unique perspective to the workshop. Her background, which includes living in Pakistan and now residing in Knoxville, gives her invaluable insights into the challenges faced by underserved populations, which she translates into impactful, solution-driven designs.

What to Expect:

  • Design Thinking: Learn how to develop a product from the ground up, focusing on designing, building, and delivering a compelling pitch to stakeholders and end users.
  • Storytelling Techniques: Discover how to craft a narrative that effectively communicates the value and impact of your design.
  • Interactive Exercises: Engage in hands-on activities that will help you apply these concepts to real-world scenarios.
  • Expert Guidance: Benefit from Rabia’s extensive experience and her commitment to addressing the needs of diverse communities.

Don’t miss this chance to learn from an expert who is dedicated to creating meaningful, inclusive products. Grab your favorite beverage, invite an amiga, and join us for an inspiring and educational workshop!

Meet Our Facilitator:

  • Rabia Razzaq: I grew up surrounded by stories about my country’s rich history. My grandmother often shared vivid memories of her life, particularly her experience during the Partition of India, marked by one of the largest mass migrations in human history. As a child, she was forced to leave her homeland, like so many others, to embark on a journey of hundreds of miles to build a new life.
    • These stories captivated me, sparking my imagination and leading me to sketch them on paper. This early fascination eventually grew into a passion for design. After four years as a Graphic Designer and earning my Master’s in Design from Syracuse University, I would love to share my journey with you and how these experiences have shaped me into the designer I am today.
    • I’m deeply passionate about creating products that prioritize inclusion and accessibility. One project I’m particularly proud of involved collaborating with Arise, Syracuse, where we designed and built cardboard products for a friend, making sure their needs were met meaningfully.
    • In addition to my design work, I also enjoy writing about these topics. If you’re interested, you can check out my article on Disability-Led Design, where I share insights on how thoughtful design can make a difference.
    • Check out her portfolio here and her LinkedIn page here.
